Traditional Braces

If you've opted for traditional braces, you're on the path to achieving a perfectly aligned set of teeth. Here's a comprehensive guide to the traditional braces procedure at our office.

Initial Consultation
Your journey to a straighter smile begins with an initial consultation. Our experienced orthodontic team will assess your dental health, take X-rays, and discuss your treatment goals. This is the perfect opportunity for you to ask any questions and address concerns.

Treatment Plan Development
Following the assessment, Dr. Nigudkar will formulate a customized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. The plan will outline the duration of treatment, adjustments needed, and expected results.

Braces Placement
Once you've agreed to the treatment plan, we'll schedule your braces placement appointment. This typically takes about 1-2 hours. During the procedure, Dr. Nigudkar will clean and dry your teeth before attaching the brackets with a special adhesive. Then, the archwire is threaded through the brackets, and elastic bands secure the wire in place.

Adjustment Period
The initial days after getting braces may involve some discomfort or soreness as your teeth adjust to the new pressure. This discomfort is temporary, and over-the-counter pain relievers can help manage any pain.

Regular Adjustment Visits
You'll need to attend regular adjustment appointments, typically every 4-6 weeks. During these visits, Dr. Nigudkar will make necessary adjustments to the archwire, ensuring a gradual shift of your teeth into the desired position.

Oral Hygiene Maintenance
Proper oral hygiene is crucial during your time with braces. Regular brushing and flossing, along with routine dental cleanings, will help prevent any issues like cavities or gum disease.

Braces Removal
Once your teeth have achieved the desired alignment, it's time for the exciting moment – braces removal. The process is painless, involving the careful detachment of brackets and removal of the archwire.

Retention Phase
To maintain the results, a retainer is often prescribed. This phase is crucial as it ensures your teeth stay in their newly aligned positions.

iTero Machine

At our office, our iTero scanner allows Dr. Dipali to take a digital impression - a highly accurate, digital, 3D image of the individual characteristics of your teeth and gum tissue. The iTero scanner is all about keeping you comfortable while delivering precise imagery, without the goop or gagging associated with conventional impressions.

In addition to being more comfortable, the digital scan can also be used for Invisalign services that are used to deliver the beautiful smile of your dreams!
